The Pre-Competition Division allows participants to join either the WBC Set Variation or Free Variation category.
The A. Pre-Competition Set Variation Division is intended for those preparing to participate in a full competition in the future, as well as those who wish to receive feedback and advice from the judges.
The judging will be conducted in order of age, but there will be absolutely no comparison with other participants. Instead, judges will provide advice that will be useful for future stage performances.
Please note that the advice given may differ from the guidance you receive from your own teacher. This should be regarded as the personal opinion of the judge. Whether or not to incorporate the judge’s advice is ultimately at the discretion of your teacher’s guidance policy.
• Age: From 2nd grade of elementary school (7 years old or older, as of the year of the competition) up to 70 years old.
• Purpose: For those in the preparation stage of competitions who wish to receive advice from the judges.
• Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
• There are no preliminaries or finals; participants will perform only once.
• Performances will be evaluated in order of age, but there will be no comparisons made between participants. No scores or rankings will be given.
• Feedback from the judges is intended to help participants in their future stage performances. While this advice may sometimes differ from the guidance of one’s own teacher, please understand that it is given as the judge’s personal opinion.
