A: Pre-Competition Set Choreography Division - Application Guidelines

Overview

The Pre-Competition Division allows participants to enter with either the WBC set choreography or a piece of their own choice.
Division A: Pre-Competition Set Choreography is for those who are seriously preparing for competitions or who wish to receive advice from the judges.
Judging is conducted in order of age, but no comparisons are made between participants. You will receive advice from the judges that will be useful for your future stage performances.
Please note that the advice may differ from the guidance of your instructor. Please accept this as the personal opinion of the judge, and ultimately, follow your instructor's policy on whether or not to utilize the judge's advice.


Eligibility

Participants: Open to individuals from 2nd-grade elementary school students (age 7 and up) to age 70 in the year of the competition.
Purpose: For those in the preparatory stages of competition who wish to receive advice from judges.
Nationality: Open to all nationalities.


About Judging

There are no preliminary or final rounds; there is only one performance.
Judging is done in order of age, but no comparisons are made between participants. There will be no scores or rankings.
The advice from the judges is intended to be used for future stage performances. Please understand that their opinions may differ from your instructor's guidance, and accept it as personal advice.

About Pointe Shoes
All participants in the Set Choreography Division must perform in ballet shoes.

Age shall be determined by the full age of individuals whose birthdays fall between January 1 and December 31, 2026.

About Advice Sheets & Awards

After the judging is complete, all participants will receive an advice sheet.
All participants will receive an award that recognizes their individual strengths.

About the Music for the WBC Set Choreography

Please prepare your own music source with a tempo similar to that used in the choreography videos. You may adjust the tempo according to your age and experience, but please refrain from significant tempo changes.


Performance Time and Music

Performance Time: The performance, including any tempo adjustments, must be within 2 minutes and 15 seconds.
Music: Please prepare your own music. The music must be in a digital data format. Instructions on how to submit it will be provided after you have entered.


Other Important Notes

・Participants should receive necessary guidance from their instructors according to their age and ability in each division.
・No comparisons will be made between participants, as the judging is solely for the purpose of providing advice.
・Please understand that the advice from each judge is subjective and that opinions may vary.


Request Regarding the Use and Distribution of the Set ChoreographyAttention

The choreography and composition of the set pieces, created by the head judge, are provided as official material for this competition and cannot be used for personal promotion, or for instructing the set choreography in classes open to the general public, without prior permission.
Furthermore, please refrain from collaborative posts (including using the "collab" feature) on Instagram or other social media, or from distributing content in a way that could be mistaken as an official communication from the competition, without obtaining prior approval from the organizers and the head judge.
If any unauthorized use or posting as described above is discovered, we will request the removal of the content and may, if necessary, take measures such as restricting future entries.
